Flat Rate Dental
Treatment Plans
As opposed to a traditional treatment plan, listing out a dental procedure with everything as an option by line item and pricing based on weight or stage, a flat rate treatment plan is designed to be more straightforward, easier for all staff members to quickly create and easier to explain to clients for better compliance.

Below is an example of a good “pre-canned” treatment plan. It is important to itemize EVERYTHING that is included in your package and go over it line by line with clients, this helps them understand the value for everything they are receiving.
All Canine dental procedures start here regardless of dental stage and patient size/weight (recommend charging a “Big Dog” fee at 60 pounds).A Feline would have the same canned dental treatment plan but at a lower procedure cost, as a feline dental cleaning, radiographs and exam should take 30 minutes as opposed to a full hour for canines.
We recommend automatically including an oral nerve block and a pain management injection (such as Rimadyl or Onsior) in the Treatment Plan. Even without extractions or additional treatments some pets will still benefit from additional pain relief, especially if the client declines recommended treatments. Since it is included, we can also get a jump on placing the nerve blocks so that they have time to work before starting any extractions or treatments involving the gingiva. If the pain medications are not needed there is no need to adjust the price.
